CURVITAR
Curvitar is a MIDI controller keytar developed around a curved keybed structure.
The project explores how the keyboard layout and left-hand controls can be adapted for a more comfortable playing position while standing and moving. The curved keybed follows the natural reach of the player, while the control section is positioned for direct access during performance.
The form of the instrument was developed around these ergonomic and functional requirements, rather than treating the keytar as a conventional keyboard fitted with a strap.
